So I decided to go check out Monster Jam's event here in Portland this weekend as I was pretty curious to see monster trucks in action for the first time in my life. I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of entertainment you get to see for the price. I got pretty decent seats for $25 each(plus Ticketbastard fees) and there was plenty of action to see from the wheelie competition, to the head to head racing, to the freestyle competition. One big drawback was the lack of space in the Moda Center arena that normally hosts NBA games but unfortunately there is no other suitable venue around here. But despite that, the trucks did manage to pull off some pretty decent jumps and tricks. Here's a video I shot of the final round of racing between Grave Digger and The Patriot.

And some more pics

damn, that is some good air for that space. When I went, some of the racing was just tenths to hundredths of a second close.

Have seen two CTS's, a Jag, a BMW 520i, and a couple other "expensive" cars at shows. Keep in mind that most all cars at these were totalled by the insurance company and cannot be stripped due to liability issues.
